Good news coming for the low income segment of Mauritius with affordable housing project of 126 units coming up in Curepipe.

Louis Steven Obeegadoo, the Deputy Prime Minister of Mauritius, and Zhu Liying, the Chinese ambassador to Mauritius, marked their presence at the inaugural ceremony for the Wooton 126-unit housing project, spearheaded by POWERCHINA.

Obeegadoo underscored the profound significance of this initiative as a pivotal aspect of enhancing livelihoods in Mauritius, especially in effectively easing urban housing challenges, particularly for low-income families. He commended POWERCHINA for its substantial contributions to Mauritius, emphasizing the successful execution of numerous beneficial projects that have propelled local infrastructure development and economic progress.

Situated in Curepipe, Mauritius, the project encompasses the planning and construction of 126 cost-effective housing units alongside essential amenities such as water supply and sewage networks, road infrastructure, and commercial establishments, all within a construction timeline of 500 days. The project is expected to substantially elevate the residential living standards and overall quality of life for local inhabitants, while also fostering regional economic advancement.

This endeavor stands as a testament to POWERCHINA’s accomplishments following 14 years of dedicated engagement in the Mauritian market, showcasing its exceptional prowess in infrastructure construction and its commitment to mutual development alongside Mauritius.
