Shirin Aumeeruddy-Cziffra, originally from Great Britain, is a renowned Mauritian figure known for her diverse roles as a lawyer, politician, and diplomat. She has been at the helm of the Public Bodies Appeal Tribunal (PBAT) since 2009, overseeing the resolution of disputes pertaining to civil servants and local communities, particularly in matters concerning recruitment and sanctions.
With a rich history in public service, Aumeeruddy-Cziffra served as the Minister of Women’s Rights and Family Affairs from 1982 to 1983. Subsequently, she assumed the esteemed position of Mayor of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill in 1987. Additionally, she demonstrated her commitment to the protection of children’s rights by serving as the Ombudsman from 2004 to 2011.
