With food delivery becoming a basic necessity these days, you would imagine that almost all the countries have food getting delivered easily. However, Mauritius doesn’t have so many apps for delivering food. Some of the apps that have been around are listed below (they have not been vetted by us personally so kindly verify once before booking).

  1. Delivery Dodo – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.deliverydodo.ordering&hl=en. This app seems to be pretty stable with regular updates coming through the play store. Don’t think they have an iPhone app but if you have Android phone then you can try to make delivery from here.
  2. Simplygood – https://www.simplygoodfood.mu/en/. They have app linked on their website but we couldn’t verify them on either play store or apple store. The number of restaurants listed here also seem to be pretty less.
  3. There is a recently developed website Foodchow – https://www.foodchow.com/en/Mauritius/mauritius. It was developed by some agency in India and not sure how it works. Doesn’t seem like the regular food ordering apps that you would find usually in other countries.
  4. Nando’s – https://apps.apple.com/np/app/nandos-mauritius/id1500857296. This seems to be the only reliable app we could verify, although this is of the restaurant so you can only order from Nandos.

The market is not very lucrative being small in size so companies like Ubereats or Swiggy (which is very popular in India) are not investing as the demand is not huge. Restaurants don’t invest in creating a delivery infrastructure because they would probably get 4-5 takeaway orders per day which is not worth investing in the setup to have delivery men in place.

If you know of any other app, please list in comments and we will update our article.
