Introduction
Pereybere, one of the world’s most beautiful beaches is located in north Mauritius on the coastal road between Grand Baie and Cap Malheureux. Pereybere is favorite spot among the young Mauritians and especially on weekends or holidays the beach is filled with youngsters.
The beach of Pereybere is extremely small and located in a sheltered bay. It is a beautiful well structured, organized, peaceful and quiet coastal village. Pereybere beach has the best stretch of coral sands and clearest waters that Mauritius can offer. The waters here are deeper than most of the lagoons offering a spectacular deep blue hue to enjoy and relax.
Places of interest
The Pereybere beach has a deep lagoon which is perfect for snorkeling and other water sports such as kite surfing, sand soccer, swimming and water surfing which are a favorite with the youngsters.
Because the water here is deep and crystal clear, it makes for great snorkeling. Make sure you stay along the rocks as that is where the coral begins and you will be able to see beautiful angle fish in pairs and you can also find crabs there hidden in between rocks. You can also go for a ride on glass bottom boats where you can see lovely exotic and colorful fish.
As the beach is very famous beach in Mauritius you should go there early to get a good spot to lay down in the shade of the large Filo trees. As the water is shallow you can enjoy a lot of swimming there.
Towards the right side of the beach, on the other side of the rocks you can find spots that offer you privacy and space away from the buzz of the crowd, but be a little careful as the water here is a bit deeper but not dangerous as sea is very calm.
Pereybere beach is a perfect place for sunset lovers. The beach becomes quite in the evening as sun goes down and is worth waiting to watch the amazing sunset and colorful sea.
