A fatal accident occurred in Rivière-du-Rempart yesterday morning on 25th June 2025 when a car dashed into an electric pylon. Maya Ramkooleea (60), at the wheel of the vehicle, did not survive her injuries. A SAMU doctor found her dead on the spot. Her body was transported to the morgue of Jeetoo Hospital. This resident of Plaine-des-Roches was making the return trip after dropping her husband off at work. As the latter did not feel well, the sixty-year-old insisted on riding in the car. She was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
