Former Finance Minister Renganaden Padayachy was arrested again for the second time in less than a week. He responded before the court of Port-Louis, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, to a provisional charge of criminal intent to commit fraud.
He is accused of Rs 45 million fraud, an amount that was unduly paid by the Mauritius Investment Corporation to Menlo Park Ltd. He continues to deny all charges and have asked people to not respond to social media messages.
