Gloria Zamora, a well-known fitness influencer and devoted mother of seven, was tragically killed on Saturday, June 21, during a night out in Fontana, California. She was reportedly on a date at a local shopping center when her ex-husband allegedly approached the couple and opened fire.

An off-duty San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed the incident and intervened, fatally shooting the gunman. Despite efforts to save them, both Zamora and her 43-year-old companion were transported to the hospital and later pronounced dead. The suspect died at the scene.
Zamora’s daughter later shared the heartbreaking news through a GoFundMe page created to support the family.

“She leaves behind seven beautiful children, ages 8 to 24, who are now facing life without our mother’s warmth, guidance, and unconditional love,” the message reads. “My mom was more than just a mother — she was a beacon in our community. She uplifted and inspired countless women, reminding them of their worth, strength, and potential. Her mantra was, ‘Women can do anything they set their minds to,’ and she lived by those words every single day.”

The fundraiser also spoke to the emotional and financial toll of the tragedy:
“This has devastated our family. We are asking for help with funeral and memorial expenses, and to support my siblings and me as we try to navigate this unimaginable loss. Every contribution will go directly toward these costs and to help us through the difficult months ahead. No donation is too small, and even sharing this page helps. Your love and support mean the world to us.”
At the time of writing, the fundraiser has raised nearly $35,000.

In a deeply personal note, Zamora’s daughter added:
“My mom was senselessly taken from us. She was murdered by my stepdad, Tomas, in an act of unimaginable violence.”
Zamora is remembered not only for her dedication to her children but for her powerful impact as a motivator and role model to many women in the fitness community and beyond.
