Dave Kissoondoyal started his tenth day of hunger strike on Monday, July 14. After being hospitalized at Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Rose-Belle, following a drop in blood sugar levels on Saturday, he was transferred this Monday to the Muller Clinic in Curepipe.

He says he wants to continue his strike in a more appropriate medical environment, in order to preserve his health and dignity.
A press briefing is scheduled in the afternoon, around 3 p.m., to take stock of his condition.

Former member of the MMM, from which he resigned in 2024, and founder of the STOP movement – Without All Or Pension, Dave Kissoondoyal began his hunger strike on July 5, to protest against the postponement of the age of eligibility for old-age pension.
